I keep getting a TRY AGAIN message after I hit GET in the Microsoft Store, when trying to switch out of S mode. How can these be fixed? I have followed the intrusions and get all the way to the end where i need to hit the GET button, and when i do so, I keep gettting TRY AGAIN

    Hi, good day!

If you’re seeing “TRY AGAIN” when hitting the GET button, it’s usually related to a Microsoft Store issue rather than the S mode process itself. I can help you run through a few quick fixes to get past it.

Here are some things you can try.

    • If you have a third-party VPN or Antivirus installed, please try to temporarily uninstall it then check if the issue persists.
    • Please try changing your Region to United States if it helps.
    • Make sure your account is not connected to school/work.
    • Please check if your date and time are set correctly.
    • Reset the Microsoft Store cache Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe and then select OK. Note: A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close, and Microsoft Store will open automatically.

I look forward to your update and am happy to continue working with you until the issue is resolved. If you find the answer helpful, please click "Accept Answer" and consider upvoting it. Otherwise, please keep me posted by clicking "Add comment" below instead of selecting Yes or No.

To switch out of S mode, the Microsoft Store “Get” action must complete successfully. If selecting Get on the Switch out of S mode page only shows “Try again,” use these steps and checks:

    1. Confirm the correct switch flow
      • On Windows 11 in S mode, go to Settings > System > Activation.
      • Under Switch to Windows 11 Pro, select Go to the Store.
      • Make sure the page title is Switch out of S mode (or similar), not an Upgrade your edition of Windows page. The upgrade page will keep the device in S mode.
    2. Retry the Store switch page directly
      • Use the built-in link to open the correct Store page:
      • When the Switch out of S mode page opens, select Get again and wait for it to complete.
    3. Check for organization restrictions
      • If the device belongs to a school, company, or other organization, the administrator can enforce S mode and block switching.
      • If the Get action always fails with “Try again,” contact the organization’s IT/admin to confirm whether switching out of S mode is blocked.
    4. One-way change reminder
      • Once the switch out of S mode succeeds, S mode cannot be turned back on. After switching, apps from outside Microsoft Store can be installed.

If the Store page still fails after these checks and the device is not organization-managed, use general Microsoft Store repair steps (reset/re-register Store, check services, etc.) and then try the Switch out of S mode page again.
