To download an app from Google Play on an Android device (including devices like Surface Duo that run Android), use the Google Play Store app rather than Google Play Games:

    1. On the Home screen, tap Play Store.
    2. In the Play Store, search for the app or game by name.
    3. Tap the app in the results.
    4. Tap Install and wait for the download and installation to complete.
    5. Tap Open to launch the app.

If an error appears when trying to download (for example, random-number error codes in Google Play), try these steps on the Android device:

    1. Clear Google Play Store cache
      • Open Settings.
      • Go to Apps or Application Manager.
      • Go to All apps and select Google Play Store.
      • Tap Force stop, then Clear cache.
      • Repeat for Google Play services.
      • Try downloading the app again.
    2. Clear Google Play Store data (if cache alone does not help)
      • In Settings > Apps > All apps > Google Play Store.
      • Tap Force stop, then Clear data.
      • Try the download again.
    3. Remove and re-add the Google account (if issues persist)
      • Open Settings.
      • Go to Users & accounts / Passwords, passkeys & accounts / Manage accounts (name varies by device).
      • Select the Google account, tap Remove account, and confirm.
      • Restart the device.
      • Add the Google account again and then try downloading the app.

If the device manufacturer requires a specific feature to be enabled on its website or in its own settings app (for example, a parental control or device feature toggle), that must be done following the manufacturer’s instructions, as that part is outside Google Play and Windows.

    Hi, good day!

I'll be asking a few questions so I can have a better idea what solutions to provide.

    1. What specific app are you trying to download from the Google Play Games app?
    2. Have you installed the Google Play Games app on your Windows computer?

Please take a screenshot of the message saying you need to turn on a feature on your manufacturer's website.

I look forward to your update and am happy to continue working with you until the issue is resolved. Please keep me posted by clicking "Add comment" below instead of selecting Yes or No.

    Hi Abooluwa Adebambo,

To run Google Play Games on Windows, you need to enable virtualization support.

Please navigate to your BIOS and enable VT-x and VT-d if you have Intel processor, or AMD-V and SVM Mode if you have AMD processor.

BIOS menu items may vary on different motherboard manufactures and models, you can navigate to your motherboard / laptop support page, they have documents about enabling virtualization support.

If you have further information, please feel free to let me know.
