Additional features, settings, or issues not covered by specific Microsoft Teams categories
Dear @Sean Born,
I understand your concern regarding that persistent camera icon in Microsoft Teams. It can certainly be distracting when you aren't currently in a call. If you feel this icon is appearing due to a display glitch, please try the following steps to refresh your interface:
- Restart the Application: Fully shut down the app by right clicking the Teams icon in your Taskbar (or System Tray) and selecting Quit. Then, relaunch the application.
- Clear the Teams Cache: This is the most effective way to resolve persistent UI issues.
- Close Microsoft Teams completely.
- Press
Win + Ron your keyboard to open the Run dialog. - For Classic Teams: Type
%appdata%\Microsoft\Teamsand press Enter. Delete all files and folders in that directory. - For New Teams: Type
%localappdata%\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbweand press Enter. Navigate toLocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeamsand delete the contents. - Restart Teams and sign back in.
Note: If the icon remains after clearing the cache, it is likely a standard feature of your current software version. While there is currently no setting to toggle this specific icon off, you can provide feedback to Microsoft by selecting Help > Give feedback within the app to let them know you'd prefer a way to customize this view.
I hope this clarifies the situation for you! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
