Input lag in games on Windows 11 despite high FPS — what could be the cause?

Hi, I’m experiencing an issue on Windows 11 where games run at high FPS (100+), but there’s still noticeable input lag, especially in fast-paced games like Valorant and CS2. It feels like there’s a delay between mouse/keyboard input and what happens on screen.

I’ve checked GPU drivers, disabled V-Sync in-game, and made sure my monitor is set to the correct refresh rate. Temps also look fine, so I’m a bit confused about what’s causing it. Could this be related to Windows settings like Game Mode, background processes, or something like mouse polling rate?

I’ve also tested lighter games like Stick War: Legacy (https://stickwarmods.com/) to compare behavior, and while the game itself isn’t demanding, I still want to understand if the same input delay pattern could point to a system-level issue rather than game-specific performance.

Any suggestions on what to check would be really helpful.

    Hi tahir mehmood,

Do you have Memory integrity turned on?

Memory integrity can affect gaming performance. You may try turning it off by open Core isolation then toggle Memory integrity status and restart your computer.

If you have further information, please feel free to let me know.

Hi, I'm Bernard. I'm happy to help!

Based on your inputs, this might be unnecessary services running in the background or a power configuration issue. Moreover, can you please check the System logs on the PC so I can further examine the root cause of the issue?

To share the System logs, please follow the steps in the link below:

Press the Windows key + X, then select "Event Viewer"

Click the drop-down of "Windows logs"

Right-click System > click Filter Current logs > Check: Critical, Warning, and Error > Hit OK

On the right pane, click "Save Filtered Log File As..."

Save the System logs file to your desktop and share it by following the steps from the link:

Note: You can also use your preferred cloud storage to upload and share the logs.

Additional note: May I know the make and model of your GPU/Graphics card? A clean installation of the display driver might be necessary.

Note: This is a public forum. I may respond shortly, but I apologize in advance for any delays. I am simply a fellow user trying to provide helpful insights and information.
