Low volume while recording with Snipping Tool.

I can't seem to find the item controlling volume for the Snipping Tool recording. The playback volume is always too low. The microphone volume is 100%. I've tried several troubleshooting steps and even reinstall Windows 11 for nothing. It's the internal microphone, not the microphone for chat.

Most people on I know end up getting a separate USB microphone, as they seem to be reliably loud for recordings.

In my case it's the PC Audio in the recording that's too quiet.
For Windows screen recording, such as via Snipping tool, I found that when I was including the PC audio to the recording, the Audio was very, very quiet.

For me, the solution was to make my PC audio volume 100% loud (I put in headphones so I wouldn't disturb those around me) & do the recording. This resulted in my recording being as loud as the original webcast that I was recording.

Why? Well, when I was watching the webcast at a comfortable ~25% volume, the Snipping tool video also captured it at ~25% volume, so then when replaying the Snipped video, with my volume still at it's normal 25%, the vid played at ~6% of the original volume. (.25x.25=.0625). I guess that makes sense, but I wish Window's Snipping Tool would record PC audio at 100% volume, regardless what volume I'm listening to, as sometimes we might want to record a live webcast, but requiring we participate with a 100% volume level is just not realistic as it's painful to the ear.

Snipping tool simply does not record at 100% and there is no way to increase it. I am referring to, for example, using the video record option to select a video in Edge and record it. It will always record sound significantly lower that what you hear.

Since you’re using the internal microphone, that might be part of the issue, internal mics often pick up less sound and can be quieter, especially in apps like Snipping Tool.

If possible, try testing with a dedicated external microphone or even a good-quality headset mic. These usually give a much clearer and louder recording. This can also help rule out whether the problem is with the Snipping Tool’s recording settings or just the limitations of the built-in mic.
