Some students cannot add “Prompt Coach” in Copilot (Add button greyed out)

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with Microsoft Copilot during a workshop with university students, and I would like to understand the cause.

We asked students to use the “Prompt Coach” from the Copilot app/library to help them build their AI agents.

However, we observed the following:

  • Some students are able to click the “Add” button and successfully add the Prompt Coach to their agent library.
  • For other students, the “Add” button is greyed out (disabled), so they cannot add it.
  • All students are logged in with their university Microsoft accounts.
  • I personally tested with both a professional account and a student account, and I am able to add the Prompt Coach without any issue.

We have already checked:

  • Students are properly logged in (correct account)
  • Same environment (Microsoft 365 Copilot web interface)

Questions:

  1. Is it possible that the Prompt Coach is not enabled or deployed for all users in the organization?
  2. Could this issue be related to the device (e.g., Mac, tablet) or browser being used, or is it more likely to be account/permission-related?

    Hi Charline,

Sounds like there might be only a group or limited users assigned to the allowed users for Prompt Coach,

On https://admin.microsoft.com under agents / all agents, look for Prompt Coach, then on the Users tab check who is allowed to use it. If it is set to specific users/groups make sure the required users are in there

(or ask an admin to check if required)

    Hope this helps,
