Are you trying to connect to a certain Bluetooth device, such as your headset or speaker, but running into issues?

Or it doesn't matter; it is more in general that you cannot connect to ANY Bluetooth device?

Or are you having trouble even finding the Bluetooth option in your computer settings?

Follow these steps to connect a Bluetooth device to a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC:

1. Make the Bluetooth device discoverable
   • Turn on the Bluetooth device (headset, earbuds, mouse, keyboard, etc.).
   • Put it in pairing mode. How to do this depends on the device (often holding a power or Bluetooth button until a light flashes). Check the device manual or manufacturer’s site if needed.
2. Turn on Bluetooth on the PC
   • Windows 11: Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices, then turn Bluetooth on.
   • Windows 10: Select Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices, then turn Bluetooth on.
3. Add the Bluetooth device
   • In the same Bluetooth settings page:
   • Windows 11: Select Add device.
   • Windows 10: Select Add Bluetooth or other device.
     • In the Add a device window, choose Bluetooth.
     • Wait for the list to show available devices, select the device, and follow any on-screen instructions.
     • When pairing finishes, select Done.
4. If the device will not connect
   Try these troubleshooting steps: • Remove and re-add the device:
   • Windows 11: Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > select the device > More options (… ) > Remove device, then use Add device to pair again.
   • Windows 10: Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > select the device under Audio, Mouse, keyboard, & pen, or Other devices > Remove device, then Add Bluetooth or other device and pair again.
     • Check the device battery: Fully charge the device, turn it off and back on, then try pairing again.
     • Turn Bluetooth off and on: In Bluetooth & devices (Windows 11) or Bluetooth & other devices (Windows 10), turn Bluetooth off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it on and try pairing again.
     • Check for Windows updates:
   • Windows 11: Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
   • Windows 10: Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.
     • Restart the PC: Start > Power > Restart, then try pairing again.

If the Bluetooth device still does not appear or connect, use the Bluetooth troubleshooter from the Get Help app via the Run the troubleshooter in Get Help link in the Bluetooth troubleshooting article.
