I clicked on 'Never Allow' for my camera and audio in Teams accidentally and can't access either my camera or audio buttons now. I've gone to Microsoft help, followed their instructions, but when the system panel for them opens up, everything is greyed out.

I see that you mentioned Brave, although you have the application now, you can reset the Never permissions by copying and pasting this address:

    brave://settings/content/camera

    Remove Teams under "Never allowed."

My browser is Brave. I've gone into the system settings and they are all on, but Teams still doesn't work. What should I do?

    Hi,

The settings should be there in Settings > Privacy and Security> Camera.

Press Windows+R keys on the keyboard, or Right-click Start on the Taskbar and choose Run.

    Type regedit.exe

    Press Enter.

    Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\CapabilityAccessManager\ConsentStore\webcam

Please take a screenshot of it and post in the next reply.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.

To re-enable your camera and audio buttons in Microsoft Teams after accidentally selecting "Never Allow," you must update the privacy permissions at the system or browser level, depending on how you are accessing Teams.

For the Microsoft Teams Desktop App

If you are using the installed application, you need to grant permission through your computer's operating system settings.

    • Windows 10/11:
      1. Open Settings from the Start menu.
        1. Navigate to Privacy & security (or Privacy) > Camera.
          1. Ensure Camera access is On and that the toggle for Microsoft Teams is specifically enabled.
            1. Repeat these steps for the Microphone section.
              1. Restart Teams to apply changes.
    • macOS:
    1. Click the Apple icon and go to System Settings (or System Preferences).
    2. Select Privacy & Security and find Camera.
    3. Find Microsoft Teams in the list and ensure the checkbox/toggle is On.
    4. Repeat this for the Microphone setting.
    5. Restart the Teams app.

For Teams on a Web Browser

If you use Teams in a browser (like Chrome or Edge), the "Never Allow" click likely blocked the site specifically in your browser settings.

    • Google Chrome:
      1. Open Chrome and click the three dots (⋮) > Settings.
      2. Go to Privacy and security > Site settings.
      3. Check both Camera and Microphone under the Permissions section.
      4. Locate teams.microsoft.com under the "Blocked" list and change its status to Allow.
    • Microsoft Edge:
      1. Select Settings and more > Settings.
      2. Go to Cookies and site permissions > All sites.
      3.
