A Microsoft app for iOS and Android devices that enables authentication with two-factor verification, phone sign-in, and code generation
To get a new QR code for Availity and add it to Microsoft Authenticator, the QR code must be generated from the Availity (non-Microsoft) account side, then scanned with Authenticator.
Follow these steps:
- Sign in to the Availity website in a browser.
- Go to the security or two-step verification / multi-factor authentication settings for the Availity account.
- Turn on or reset two-step verification for the account.
- In Availity’s MFA setup, choose to use an authenticator app. This should display a new QR code on the Availity site.
- On the phone, open the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- Tap the + (plus) icon on the top menu bar.
- On the Add account page, choose Other account.
- Use the phone’s camera to scan the QR code shown on the Availity setup page.
- Complete any verification step Availity requires (for example, entering a code from Authenticator back into the Availity site).
If Availity does not show a QR code, look for an option like “Can’t scan code” or “Enter code manually” and follow the on-screen instructions to add the account to Authenticator using the secret key provided.
If this is the first time using Authenticator, allow the app to access the camera when prompted so the QR code can be scanned.
