Hello,
If you cannot add or use “Wireless Display”, please check the following items in this order.
These steps confirm whether your device actually supports Miracast.
- Check “Projecting to this PC”
Go to:
Settings → System → Projecting to this PC
If you see this message:
“This device doesn’t support receiving Miracast, so you can’t project to it wirelessly.”
then your device cannot use Wireless Display, even if the feature appears in Optional features.
- Check Miracast support using DxDiag (most accurate method)
Press Win + R
Type dxdiag and select OK
In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, click “Save All Information…”
Open the saved DxDiag.txt file
In the Display Devices section, find the line “Miracast”
You will see one of these:
Miracast: Available, with HDCP → Fully supported
Miracast: Available, no HDCP → Limited support
Miracast: Not Supported →
Your device cannot use Wireless Display, even if the feature is visible
Important:
If Miracast is not supported by your Wi‑Fi or graphics driver, Wireless Display cannot be used.
- If Miracast is supported, then add the feature
Go to:
Settings → Apps → Optional features → Add a feature
Search for Wireless Display.
- If the feature still does not appear, repair Windows Update components
Wireless Display is downloaded through Windows Update.
If the component store is damaged, the feature will not load.
Run these commands in an elevated Command Prompt:
Enter the following command and press Enter:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
When it finishes, enter the next command and press Enter:
sfc /scannow
Restart your PC and try again.
