On Windows 11, Microsoft Edge is a core component of the operating system and cannot be uninstalled like regular apps, which is why there is no Uninstall option in Control Panel or Settings.
Windows relies on Edge’s web platform for built‑in features and apps (including web-based applications and certain widgets), so it is kept installed and updated through Windows Update or the Edge installer. Other browsers can still be installed and set as the default browser at any time, but Edge itself is not removable as a standard program.
If Edge was deployed and managed by an organization using Microsoft Intune, it can be uninstalled only from devices where Intune originally installed it, by assigning the app with the Uninstall action in Intune. This does not apply to the built‑in consumer Edge on a typical Windows 11 PC.
