Are you able to lop into Windows by clicking the Accessibility icon at the bottom of the login screen and use the on-screen keyboard?

    1

If you are able to get into Windows, right click your Start Button and open Device Manager.

Please provide a screenshot of the full Device Manager window.

    2

If you are unable to log into Windows.

Click the power button on the Login screen

Press the Shift Key and click Restart

Your PC will boot into the Windows Recovery Environment

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - System Restore

Check to see if you have a restore point you can go back to.

Try these steps in order, testing the keyboard after each step:

    1. Check basic hardware and power
      • If using a USB keyboard, unplug it, wait 10–15 seconds, then plug it back in.
      • Try a different USB port on the PC (both front and back, and avoid USB hubs at first).
      • If using a USB hub, make sure the hub has power. If it still fails, connect the keyboard directly to the PC.
      • If the keyboard is wireless, check or replace the batteries and make sure it is turned on.
      • Make sure there is no visible damage to the cable or connector.
    2. Test the keyboard on another PC
      • Connect the same keyboard to a different computer.
      • If it does not work there either (and any required driver is installed), the keyboard is likely faulty and should be replaced.
    3. Try another keyboard on this PC
      • If a second keyboard works on this PC, the issue is with the original keyboard.
      • If no external keyboard works, continue with software checks.
    4. Check for dirt or obstructions
      • Inspect the keyboard for dirt or debris blocking keys or sensors.
      • Clean gently and try again.
    5. Update drivers via Windows Update
      • On a working pointing device (mouse or touchpad), open the search box on the taskbar and type check for updates.
      • Select Check for updates.
      • Install any available updates, then restart the PC and test the keyboard.
    6. Update the keyboard driver in Device Manager
      • In the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, then select Device Manager.
      • Find the keyboard under Keyboards (or the relevant device category) and double-click it.
      • Open the Driver tab and select Update Driver, then follow the prompts.
      • Restart and test.

If none of these steps allow any keyboard to work on this PC, and the same keyboards work on other PCs, the problem is likely with the PC’s hardware (USB controller, motherboard) and may require professional service.
