Hi My Photoshop will open but it wont respond , I have tried closing down and restarting several times but it still wont respond after reopening, all updates have been done. I run the latest version. I have right clicked the app and checked properties I think that seems correct.

Try the following Windows-side troubleshooting steps to address an app (Photoshop) that opens but stops responding:

    1. Perform a selective startup (clean boot) This checks if another program, process, or service is conflicting with Photoshop.
      • In Windows, follow the steps in Run Selective Startup using System Configuration for the version of Windows in use. This will start Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.
      • After the clean boot, start Photoshop and see if it responds normally.
      • If it works in clean boot, re-enable services/startup items in batches to find the conflicting software.
    2. Repair or reinstall the app
      • If the issue persists after a clean boot, uninstall Photoshop from Settings > Apps > Installed apps, then reinstall it from the official source.
      • For apps from Microsoft Store, use Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > [App] > Advanced options > Repair/Reset where available.
    3. Check for Windows, driver, and firmware updates
      • On Windows 11, go to Settings > Windows Update and install all available updates.
      • If using a Surface device, open the Surface app, go to Help & support, and select Check for updates to ensure drivers and firmware are current.
    4. If Windows only freezes when using Photoshop
      • Update or reinstall Photoshop to the latest version.
      • If still unresponsive, contact the app’s publisher (Adobe) for app-specific troubleshooting.

If Windows or other apps also stop responding, repeat the clean boot and update steps above to isolate whether the problem is system-wide or specific to Photoshop.
