The Copilot menu window has disappeared, even though I have an active subscription. What should I do in this case?

The Copilot window is gone. I don't understand why, since I haven't changed any settings and I have a valid subscription! The other generation features are working, but I can't create a new window on its own. The picture shows a window that isn't there right now! And I can't find it anywhere, even after uninstalling and reinstalling the program

Work through these steps to restore the Copilot pane in Microsoft 365 apps:

    1. Confirm the correct account and license
      • In the app (for example, PowerPoint), go to File > Account.
      • Check that the account shown at the top is the one that has the Copilot license.
      • If not, sign out of other accounts and sign in with the licensed account only.
    2. Refresh the Copilot license
      • Still in File > Account, select Update License.
      • Close all Office apps completely, then reopen the app and check the Home tab for Copilot and try opening the Copilot experience again.
    3. Make sure the app is fully updated
      • In the same Account page, use Update Options to install the latest Office updates, then restart the app.
    4. If using a Mac desktop app
      • In the app menu (for example, PowerPoint on the top bar), select About PowerPoint > More Info… > Refresh License.
      • Close all Office apps and reopen.
      • In Word (and similarly in other apps that expose this setting), go to Word > Preferences > Privacy and ensure:
        • Experiences that analyze your content is turned on.
        • All connected experiences is turned on.
    5. If using the web version
      • Refresh the browser page.
      • Ensure third‑party cookies are allowed so Copilot can validate the license.
    6. If the Copilot button or pane is still missing or disabled
      • Follow the same steps documented for missing Copilot buttons.
      • If in an organization, ask the Microsoft 365 admin to verify that a Copilot‑supported license is assigned and that Copilot is not blocked by policy.

If none of these steps restore the Copilot pane, the issue matches the documented “Copilot is missing, disabled, or doesn’t work correctly” scenario and should be escalated to Microsoft 365 support by the tenant admin.
