    Hello

Windows license is typically not refundable, so you will not find the request refund option in your account's order history.

Open the "Get Help" app on your computer (just search for it in the Start menu). or go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, Type "Billing" and press Enter. On the next screen, click "Contact support" at the bottom of the page, then choose "Windows" > "Manage my subscription". You’ll then see the option to chat with a Microsoft support agent. Explain that it was an accidental purchase. They might make an exception for you by refunding it manually.

A Windows 11 product key purchase is treated as a digital purchase from Microsoft, so refund options depend on Microsoft’s refund policies for digital items and how the order was placed.

To try to get a refund for the accidental Windows 11 Home key purchase:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account used to buy the key and review the order in your order history.
    2. Use the Microsoft Store “cancel/return” and refund flow for that order, if available. For digital purchases, eligibility and timing are critical; after a certain point, refunds may not be offered.
    3. If the self-service option does not show a refund path, contact Microsoft Store Support directly and provide the order number and explain that this was an accidental/incorrect edition purchase. The refund will be handled under the digital purchases/returns policy for the country or region.

If the Windows 11 key was part of an Extended Security Updates (ESU) or similar digital program, the refund follows the same digital purchase policy for the region, as described in the ESU FAQ.
