Based on similar cases with the same “Unexpected error” message during exam scheduling, this is often caused by a Pearson VUE account block (ERROR_VUE_WIDE_BLOCK), typically triggered by multiple failed payment attempts, or by a general scheduling issue that must be handled by support.
To resolve it before the voucher expires:
- Contact Microsoft Credentials support so they can review the scheduling issue and direct to Pearson VUE if needed:
- Use the support entry point at https://aka.ms/CertificationSupport or https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/support/help (from there, open a support request under Certification/exam scheduling).
- If the error is confirmed as a Pearson VUE block, Pearson VUE must remove it before scheduling can proceed. Use the Pearson VUE contact path provided from the Certification Support page.
- If the voucher came from a specific promotion (for example, SXSW EDU, Web Summit, Ignite, or Applied Skills sweepstakes), ensure that:
- The exam is scheduled and taken before the voucher’s expiration date stated in the email and program terms.
- The same email address used to receive the voucher is used in the Microsoft Learn profile and Pearson VUE registration.
- If the voucher is close to expiring, include that detail and a screenshot of the error in the support ticket so the support team can prioritize and advise on options.
