Dear Team,

I am planning to do certification of AZ-204: Developing Solutions for Microsoft Azure. I got the learning path but could not find the lab access to do hands in azure portal.

Could you share the process to get the access of azure portal .

Regards,

Dipanshu Gupta

Hello Dipanshu, it sounds like you’ve got the study material for AZ-204 but you’re not sure how to get hands-on in the Azure portal.

    You basically have two ways:

    1. Self-study with your own Azure subscription
    2. Instructor-led or official AZ-204 course labs via Azure Lab Services

Below is an outline of each, plus links to the docs you’ll need.

    1. If you don’t already have an Azure subscription • Sign up for a free account (12-month free services + $200 credit) https://azure.microsoft.com/free/ • Or, if you’re a student, grab the free Azure for Students offer (no credit card) https://azure.microsoft.com/offers/ms-azr-0044p/
    2. Once you have a subscription: Go to Microsoft Learn and open the AZ-204 modules. Each module that requires portal work will have an “Activate sandbox” button in the top right. Clicking it spins up a temporary lab environment you can play with.

If you’re attending an instructor-led AZ-204 course • Your training provider should give you a registration link for Azure Lab Services. • You’ll click the link, sign in with your Azure account, and “register” for the lab. • After registration you’ll see your lab in the Azure Lab Services portal (labs.azure.com) and can start/stop VMs as needed.

Quick doc refs to get you started:

    • Classroom-style (instructor-provided) labs overview https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/lab-services/classroom-labs

    • Set up & manage a lab account (for educators/trainers) https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/lab-services/classroom-labs/tutorial-setup-lab-account

    • Set up a classroom lab https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/lab-services/classroom-labs/tutorial-setup-classroom-lab

    • How to access a classroom lab (for students) https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/lab-services/classroom-labs/how-to-use-classroom-lab

    • Microsoft Learn sandbox (self-study hands-on) – Open any AZ-204 module on Microsoft Learn and click “Activate sandbox” in the top right
