I bought a windows 11 product code and activated windows with it. I installed a new version of windows 11 and bought a new windows 11 product code. I tried to activate the new windows 11 but a message said that the product code had already been used to activate another device. It was not used to activate another device. How do I fix this?

The message indicates that the new product key is being reported as already used or used on more devices than allowed by the Microsoft Software License Terms.

To fix this, follow these steps:

    1. Check the exact activation error code:
      • Select Start > Settings > System > Activation and note the error code shown (for example, 0xC004C008, 0xC004C770, or 0x803FA071).
    2. If the error is 0xC004C008, 0xC004C770, or 0x803FA071:
      • These errors mean the product key has already been used on another device or is being used on more devices than allowed.
      • A separate product key is required for each device. If this is a new device or a clean install, use a product key that has not been used elsewhere.
      • If using Windows 11 and need a new license, go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Activation and select Go to Microsoft Store, then follow the instructions to purchase Windows 11. Open Activation settings
    3. If substantial hardware changes were made (such as replacing the motherboard) and a valid product key exists:
      • Try phone activation:
        • In the search box on the taskbar, type SLUI 04, select SLUI 04 from the results, and follow the on-screen instructions to activate Windows.
    4. If Windows 11 was not preinstalled and activation depends on a product key (no digital license):
    5. If there is no valid product key or digital license available for this installation:
      • Purchase a Windows 11 digital license after installation:
        • Select Start > Settings > System > Activation, then select Go to Store to open Microsoft Store and purchase a Windows 11 digital license. Open Activation settings

If activation still fails, use the Windows Activation troubleshooter:

    1. Ensure the device is connected to the internet.
    2. Sign in with an administrator account.
    3. Select Start > Settings > System > Activation, then select Troubleshoot if available. The troubleshooter can fix some activation problems or provide guidance. Open Troubleshoot settings

If the troubleshooter cannot resolve the issue and the key is reported as already used, the resolution is typically to use a different key or purchase a new license for this device.

I bought the product key from ElectronicFirst. They have since given me a new Product Key, but it does not work either. Screenshots attached.

Where did you buy the license? From Microsoft, or from third party?

Can you please type cmd in the search on the taskbar and hit enter to launch command prompt, then run the following command:

    slmgr /dlv

Then share a screenshot please. Thanks!
