Follow these steps in order, testing after each step:

    1. Check power and cables
    • Make sure the PC is powered on and fans are spinning.
    • Verify the monitor is plugged into power, turned on, and set to the correct input (HDMI/DisplayPort).
    • Ensure the display cable is connected to the graphics card output, not the motherboard port (if a separate GPU is installed).
    • Reseat the display cable at both ends or try a different cable/port.
    1. Try basic blank‑screen recovery
    • With the PC on, press Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B once to reset the graphics driver. Listen for a beep or screen flicker.
    • Press Windows + P, then tap P once and press Enter to cycle display modes in case Windows is outputting to a non‑existent display.
    1. Check keyboard and mouse
    • Unplug the keyboard and mouse USB cables, wait ~10 seconds, then plug them back in.
    • Try different USB ports on the PC (prefer rear I/O ports directly on the motherboard).
    • If using a USB hub, bypass it and connect devices directly to the PC.
    • If wireless, press any reset button on the device or receiver, or re‑seat the USB receiver.
    1. Power cycle the PC
    • Hold the PC’s power button for about 20 seconds to force it off.
    • Turn off the power supply (if desktop) and unplug the power cable for 30 seconds.
    • Plug back in, power on, and see if the keyboard/mouse lights and display return.
    1. If the screen is still black
    • Try another monitor or TV if available.
    • Disconnect all non‑essential peripherals (USB drives, extra controllers, etc.), leaving only keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

If none of the above restores display or peripheral power, there may be a hardware or cabling issue in the new build (GPU not fully seated, power connectors, or motherboard/PSU). In that case, recheck internal connections or seek in‑person hardware assistance.
