That error (503 Service Unavailable) is being widely reported on OneDrive by many people, it seems to be a server side issue Microsoft needs to fix on their side, check the link below to see if there is any outage reported in your local area.

Some people indicate if they clear the browser data like the cache, OneDrive may load, or try using an in-private web browser tab or using a different web browser to access OneDrive.

    Good day @Michael Remus,

A 503 Service Unavailable error usually indicates that the OneDrive service is temporarily unable to handle the request. This can be caused by a transient service issue, network-related interruption, or browser/environment factors.

Please try the following steps to isolate the issue:

1/ Check via browser and clear cache

    • Clear browser cache and cookies (set time range to All time)
    • Then go to https://www.office.com and sign in
    • Navigate to Apps > OneDrive and check if you can access your files
    • If possible, try InPrivate/Incognito mode as well
    • If you are using VPN or proxy, temporarily disable it and test again
    • You may also check with other users in your organization to see if they are affected

    User's image

    2/ Try a different network/ device

    • Switch to another network (for example mobile hotspot) to rule out network-related issues
    • Test on another browser or device if available

3/ OneDrive desktop app (if applicable)

If you are using the desktop app, please try resetting it using the official guide: Reset OneDrive - Microsoft Support

4/ If you are using the OneDrive desktop application, you can also send a report from it:

    • Click the OneDrive cloud icon in the system tray
    • Go to Help & Settings > Give feedback
    • Describe the issue and submit the report User's image

If you try the steps above, please let me know which step you tested and the result so we can narrow it down further.

Error 503 indicates that the service is temporarily unavailable on the server side rather than an issue with the local browser. Because it has been happening for about a week and across both Chrome and Edge, the most likely causes are:

    1. A temporary service or throttling issue on the OneDrive/SharePoint backend.
    2. A broader Microsoft 365 service problem affecting OneDrive access.

    Take these steps:

    1. If this affects multiple users or devices, sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center and check the Service Health Dashboard for any active incidents related to OneDrive or SharePoint. If there is an incident, wait for Microsoft to resolve it.
    2. If you see messages like “Server is busy”, “503”, or “You are now in line to access this site”, do not keep refreshing the page. The waiting-room mechanism automatically retries and refreshing can delay access further.
    3. If the issue is only on one machine, flush the local DNS cache in Windows in case of stale DNS entries:
      • Select Start.
      • Type cmd and open Command Prompt.
      • Run: ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
      • Close the window and try opening OneDrive again.
    4. If the problem persists for more than a short period and no incident is shown in Service Health, contact Microsoft technical support for OneDrive/SharePoint so they can check for backend throttling or service issues on the tenant.
