Purchased PC Cleaner upgrade in Jan 2026. Computer with windows crashed and I was forced to complete a reset. Most of my apps were deleted during this process. I had to install PC Cleaner again and now it will not recognize that I have a license. Is there a product key or license that I can find in my history? I do show a payment in my subscription for the upgrade.

thanks for any help

Hi,

Please do not use such products, as they cause more harm than good. PC Cleaner Pro is a well known PUP.

Only use this product from Microsoft which is free of cost:

I hope this information helps. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Total PC Cleaner Pro is a third‑party app, so its license or product key is not managed the same way as a Windows product key and is not covered by the available Windows activation documentation.

For Microsoft products (like Windows itself or apps bought from Microsoft Store), license or product key information is typically found in:

    1. Microsoft account Order history:
      • Go to Order history.
      • Check whether the purchase appears there and whether a Product key/Install option is shown. If only Install is shown, the app may not use a separate product key.
      • If there is no product key stored there, follow the guidance in the Store article (for example, some products only have the key on a card or in email, and some do not use keys at all).
    2. Email from the seller or publisher:
      • If the upgrade was purchased through a store or directly from the app publisher, the license or key is usually in the confirmation email or in that vendor’s account portal, not in Windows.

If the app was not purchased through Microsoft Store or is not visible in Microsoft account Order history, contact the app’s publisher or the store where it was purchased to recover or re‑issue the license. Windows reset does not create or store third‑party product keys that can be retrieved later.
