Hello everyone,
Since updating, I don’t get notifications from apps like Teams or Outlook. Could this be tied to Focus Assist settings? Anyone experienced this problem and any fix for this? Thank you.

Maybe the Focus Assist is the culprit. So, check these settings:
If banners still do not appear, you can open Task Manager, find Windows Explorer, and restart it to refresh the notification system.
Hi Haziq Salleh,
You’re right to suspect Focus Assist, it’s one of the most common causes. After updates, Focus Assist or Notification settings can sometimes reset to “Priority only” or “Alarms only,” which blocks most app notifications. I recommend opening Settings > System > Notifications & actions and confirming that Focus Assist is turned off or set to “Off.” Also check that Teams and Outlook are enabled under “Get notifications from these senders.”
Another step worth trying is to toggle notifications off and back on for the affected apps, then restart the device. This refreshes the notification channel. If the issue persists, sign out and back into Teams/Outlook to ensure the apps are properly registered with the notification service.
In some cases, updates can also disable background apps. Go to Settings > Privacy > Background apps and confirm that Teams and Outlook are allowed to run in the background. Without this, notifications may not arrive reliably.
Finally, if you’re using a VPN or firewall, make sure it isn’t blocking the Windows Push Notification Service (WNS), as that’s required for real-time alerts.
