    Hi,

May I ask if your cam is built-in or an external device? If you are using an external device, please check whether your camera works on another device.

Also, verify if your device functions properly with other external cameras. It is possible that your current external camera is not compatible with the latest update.

In the meantime, try shutting down your PC.

Press the SHIFT key + Shutdown or press the power button for 10 seconds until the PC turns off. Unplug external devices from the PC for 30 seconds, except the mouse and keyboard, then turn your PC on. Then plug the camera device (if not built-in), and turn on your camera. See if it is working.

Please let me know how it goes. I look forward to your response.

    Stay Safe!

Perform the following steps in order, testing the webcam after each step:

    1. Run the Windows camera troubleshooter
      • Open the Get Help app and run the Windows Camera troubleshooter using the built‑in flow. It will automatically run diagnostics and attempt to fix most camera problems.
      • If the troubleshooter does not resolve the issue, continue with the steps below.
    2. Check for Windows and driver updates
      • Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.
      • If View optional updates appears, select it and install any available updates for the camera.
      • Restart the PC after updates complete.
    3. Update the camera driver in Device Manager
      • Select Start > Device Manager.
      • Expand Cameras (or Imaging devices) and locate the external webcam.
      • Right‑click the webcam > Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
      • After the update, restart the PC and test again.
    4. Roll back the camera driver (if the issue started after an update)
      • In Device Manager, right‑click the webcam > Properties.
      • On the Driver tab, select Roll Back Driver (if available), then choose Yes.
      • Restart the device and test the webcam.
    5. Reinstall the camera driver
      • In Device Manager, right‑click the webcam > Properties > Driver tab.
      • Select Uninstall Device and check Attempt to remove the driver for this device, then select OK.
      • In Device Manager, select Action > Scan for hardware changes to reinstall the driver.
      • Restart the PC and test.
    6. Test the webcam in different apps
      • Open Start > Camera and check if the preview stutters.
      • If the camera works smoothly in the Camera app but stutters in a specific app (for example, Teams), adjust that app’s video settings or update/reinstall that app.
    7. Verify privacy and access settings
      • Select Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Camera.
      • Ensure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are turned on.
      • For desktop apps (browsers, conferencing apps), ensure Let desktop apps access your camera is turned on.

If the problem persists after these steps, check the webcam manufacturer’s support page for a specific Windows 11 driver or firmware update compatible with the latest security updates.
