    Hi,

Do you mean you have a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family License, or a Business license?

You can upgrade Personal or Family to a Premium subscription. If you have a Business license, simply purchase Copilot addon from the admin center.

I hope this information helps. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Otherwise, if your problem is resolved, please take a moment to rate the answer. Wishing you good luck!

To upgrade to a Copilot-enabled Microsoft 365 subscription (such as Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, or Premium) when managing the subscription personally (no admin, home use):

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft account that owns the current Microsoft 365 subscription at the services and subscriptions page.
    2. Locate the existing Microsoft 365 subscription.
    3. Use the manage/upgrade options shown there to move to a plan that includes Copilot (for home use this is typically Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, or Premium with Copilot).
    4. Complete the purchase/upgrade flow.
    5. After upgrading, make sure the apps recognize the new license:
      • On the web, refresh the browser page where Microsoft 365 apps are open.
      • On desktop apps, sign out and sign back in with the same Microsoft account, then restart the apps.
      • If Copilot does not appear, follow the steps to refresh the license in the apps (for example, on Mac: app name > About <app name> > More Info… > Refresh License) and verify privacy settings allow connected experiences.

If Copilot still does not show or gives license validation errors after upgrading, confirm that the correct account is signed in and that files are stored in OneDrive or SharePoint rather than third‑party storage, as license validation can fail for some third‑party locations.
