Realms free trial not working

I just purchased a Bedrock realms plus subscription with a free 30 day trial but it is not showing up in game. When I first purchased it, it said there was an error creating the world but my realm subscription was successful. I see that the subscription was purchased in my Microsoft account, and I have ensured that it is the same account that is attached to my Minecraft app. I have tried logging out and restarting Minecraft, and it has not changed anything. My account history shows that I have never redeemed the free trial before this.

Hi! I also bought the realm plus subscription, it didnt work and wouldnt show up so I impulsively bought the 8.99 realm although I signed up for the free trial. That also did not work so I felt kind of bummed. My friend ended up just inviting me to HER REALM that she previously had and for some reason that triggered the realms I had bought and they showed up. so now my realm is working. you can maybe try that LOL

    Hello Sam Hoffman,

The "error creating the world" at purchase is key — it means your subscription billed successfully, but the Realm itself didn't get provisioned on the server side. That's why nothing shows up in-game even after restarting and re-signing in. It's not an account or platform issue.

    Before contacting support:

    • Confirm Realms Plus is listed as active on account.microsoft.com/services.
    • Grab the order ID from account.microsoft.com/billing/orders.

Don't cancel and repurchase, and don't try to start a new trial — the trial is one-per-account and you'd risk burning it without fixing the underlying issue.

The right channel is Minecraft/Mojang support, since they can re-trigger Realm provisioning against your existing subscription:

When you open the ticket, lead with the order ID and quote the "error creating the world" message — that points them straight at the provisioning side instead of billing.

I hope this points you to the right direction.

The Bedrock Realms Plus subscription and its free trial are managed entirely as a separate subscription from the base Minecraft game and from any Game Pass entitlement.

    From the usage rules:

    • Realms Plus is a subscription for content and a personal server, to be used only with supported versions of Minecraft on platforms where the game is already owned.
    • If Minecraft is being played through Game Pass, Realms Plus is still a separate subscription and must be purchased and cancelled separately.
    • An active Realms Plus subscription is required to use Realms Plus content and the associated personal server.

Given that the subscription shows as purchased in the Microsoft account and the correct account is used in Minecraft, the key checks are:

    1. Confirm that the Bedrock version in use is one of the supported platforms (Minecraft: Java Edition and Xbox 360 are not supported for Realms Plus).
    2. Confirm that the Realms Plus subscription is active (not expired or cancelled) in the Microsoft account billing/subscriptions area.
    3. Ensure that the same Microsoft account that owns both the Bedrock game license and the Realms Plus subscription is signed in on the device.

If the subscription is active, on a supported Bedrock platform, and the correct account is signed in, but the Realm still does not appear or world creation fails, the next step is to contact Minecraft/Realms support so they can check the subscription and Realm provisioning on the service side, as Realms Plus requirements, features, and online services are subject to change and may be updated or retired.
