    Hi,

What is the model of the Canon printer in case the Q&A assistance procedure didn't work?

    Thanks

To scan a document from a Canon printer into a Windows 11 computer, first ensure the scanner part of the device is installed and recognized by Windows, then use the Windows Scan app to perform the scan.

    1. Verify the Canon scanner is installed
      1. Make sure the Canon printer/scanner is connected to the PC (USB or network) and powered on.
      2. Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      3. Confirm the Canon device appears in the list. If it is a multifunction printer, select it and check that Scanner settings is listed, which indicates Windows detects the scanner.
      4. If it does not appear, select Add device next to Add printer or scanner and let Windows search, then select the device and choose Add device.
    2. Open the Windows Scan app
      1. Right-click the Start menu and select Search.
      2. In the Type here to search box, type: Windows Scan.
      3. Select Scan from the Apps results.
      4. If Scan does not appear, install it from Microsoft Store using this link: Windows Scan.
    3. Place the document in the Canon scanner
      1. If using the flatbed: place the page face down on the glass and close the lid.
      2. If using the document feeder: place the pages in the feeder (face up or face down according to the Canon device’s markings).
    4. Configure the scan in Windows Scan
      1. In the Scan app, in the Scanner drop-down, select the Canon scanner.
      2. In Source, choose Flatbed, Feeder, or Auto-configured, matching how the pages were loaded.
      3. In File type, choose the desired image format (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, or Bitmap).
      4. To choose where the files will be saved, select Show more, then under Save file to, select the folder link, choose a folder, and select Select Folder.
    5. Scan the document
      1. Select Scan at the bottom of the app.
      2. When the scan completes, it is automatically saved to the chosen folder. If no folder was chosen, it is saved by default to Pictures\Scans in the user folder.
      3. At the top of the Scan app, select View to open the scanned page in the Photos app for viewing or basic editing, or select Close to finish and prepare for another scan.
    6. Find the scanned files later
      1. Right-click the Start menu and select File Explorer.
      2. Browse to the folder selected in Save file to. If none was selected, go to Pictures > Scans.

If the Canon scanner still does not work after these steps, install or update the Canon driver/software from Canon’s support site, then repeat the verification and scanning steps.
