Hello, good day and thanks for your question. Sorry to know about this and I understand that you are having an issue with regards to your payment method in your Microsoft account.

If your card is up to date and you have also verified that it is working for other purchase that you made online, please check and try this on a different browser or by using inPrivate or Incognito browsing and another alternative is to link your card to PayPal and use it as payment method. Please see below for other things that you can also check with regards to this issue.

    • Enter your name precisely as it appears on the card and only include your middle initial if it appears on your card.
    • If this is a company card, enter the company name as both a first name and last name. For example, if the company name is "My Company" you may split the company name into the first and last name fields.
    • If the company only has one name, for example, "Company," enter the company name in both the first and last name fields.
    • If you are asked to enter the address and it exceeds the Address 1 field, use the Address 2 field and do not shorten or abbreviate your address.
    • The card number and type cannot be edited, so if you make a mistake, you'll need to add a new one with the correct information. Other credit card information can be edited, such as billing address and expiration date.

Use these concrete checks and adjustments to get the Romanian debit card and address accepted when buying Minecraft from Microsoft Store.

    1. Confirm the card is a supported type
    • Use a normal bank-issued debit or credit card.
    • Do not use:
      • Virtual cards
      • Prepaid cards These are commonly rejected and can trigger the generic error: “Make sure all the information is correct or use another credit card.”

If the card is virtual or prepaid, switch to a standard debit/credit card.

    1. Make sure country/region settings match the card

Microsoft requires that the payment method and the account/Store region align.

    Check these points:

    • The country/region of the Microsoft account billing profile must match the country that issued the card (Romania in this case).
    • The Store region (where Minecraft is being bought) must also match.

If the account or Store is set to another country (for example, UK, Spain, etc.), the address form may:

    • Lock the country field to that other country
    • Enforce a different postal code format
    • Reject a Romanian postal code or address

In that case, update the account/Store region to Romania, then re-enter the card and address.

    1. Enter card details exactly as on the card

On the payment screen, carefully re-enter:

    • Card number
    • Expiration date
    • Name on the card (exact spelling and order)
    • CVV/security code (3 digits on the back for Visa/Mastercard)

Any typo in these fields will cause the generic error.

    1. Fix the billing address so it matches bank records

The most common cause of the “information is incorrect” error is an address mismatch.

    Do the following:

    • Use the exact billing address registered with the bank for that card:
      • Street and number
      • City
      • County (if applicable)
      • Romanian postal code (6 digits)
    • Make sure:
      • The country/region field is set to Romania.
      • The postal code is entered in the correct field and format.

If the form rejects the postal code or forces a different format, that usually means the country/region on the billing profile is not Romania. Correct the country/region first, then re-enter the address.

    1. Check for other Microsoft account issues

    Before retrying the purchase:

    • Verify the card is up to date on the Payment options page.
    • Check there are no overdue subscriptions or past-due balances on the Services page.
    • Make sure the account is not temporarily suspended.

Any of these can block new purchases even if the card and address are correct.

    1. Confirm with the bank that the card can be used online

If the form looks correct but the card still fails:

    • Contact the bank or card issuer and confirm:
      • The card is active and not blocked.
      • Online payments are allowed.
      • International or foreign-currency transactions are allowed (if the Store charges in another currency).
      • There are sufficient funds.

Banks sometimes block new or unusual online transactions until they are explicitly allowed.

    1. When to switch cards or contact support

    If, after:

    • Using a standard (non-virtual, non-prepaid) Romanian card
    • Matching the Microsoft account/Store region to Romania
    • Entering card and address exactly as on bank records
    • Confirming with the bank that the card is active and allowed

you still see the same error, then:

    • Try a different bank-issued debit or credit card that meets the same conditions.
    • If the issue persists across cards, use Microsoft Store support (Get help / Contact support) so an agent can review the billing profile, region, and any hidden blocks on the account.
