Name associated with my hotmail address has incorrect last name

My name is correct in my profile information, but when i go to send an email, someone has apparently changed my last name by misreading it. So when I send emails, people think I am last name Melloy instead of Melby. How do I change this?

Hi!

Where does this incorrect information appear? In the email address itself, in the recipient field (Name), or at the end of the sent email (signature)?

Does this problem occur on another device, such as a mobile phone?

Have you also checked if your name is correct in Account Info?

Where did you access Profile Info? In Outlook Web itself or through the website https://account.microsoft.com/?

The information appears like this as sender:

Ann Melloy ******@hotmail.com

I cannot initiate an email to Ann Melby. I type in Ann and my profile name appears as Ann Melloy. It is correct in my profile information.

Your own contact is saved with the wrong name. In the new Outlook, click the person icon > Your Contacts > Search for a contact with your name > Click on your contact and change its name > See if that resolves the issue.
