    Hello

The AI already gave you the basic step by step, but I do want to point out a few exceptions:

    1. The other person must have a personal Microsoft account. If not, they need to sign up for one.
    2. If the other person's account is a work/school account, you can still chat with them, but audio/video chats won't be available.

To chat face to face (one-on-one) in Microsoft Teams, first start a one-on-one chat, then place a video call from that chat.

    1. Start a one-on-one chat Desktop or web:

    1. Open Teams.
    2. Select Chat.
    3. Select New chat or New message at the top of your list of chats and channels.
    4. Enter the person’s name in the To field.
    5. Type a short message (optional) and select Send to start the chat.

    Teams Free (desktop or mobile):

    1. Select New Chat.
    2. Type the person’s name, email address, or phone number in the To: field.
    3. Select the person from the suggestions to open the chat.
    4. Type a message and select Send.

    2. Start the face-to-face (video) call

    1. With the one-on-one chat open, use the call controls at the top of the chat window.
    2. Select Video call to start a face-to-face call with that person.
    3. When they answer, both of you will see and hear each other.

If only audio is needed, select Audio call instead of Video call.
