How to fix not getting builder cape after redeeming?

I still haven't gotten my builder cape and it has been 21 hours. Does anyone know how to make it show up? I've redeemed it

    Hello everyone,

    I'm seeing a lot of posts about redeemed Minecraft capes not appearing in-game.

    If your situation matches the common case — you redeemed a promotional cape (Home Cape, Builder Cape, etc.) on the Minecraft site, it's confirmed on your account, but it's not showing up in Minecraft: Java Edition — then this is actually expected behavior. Promotional capes land in Bedrock's Dressing Room first, and you have to manually select the cape in Java's skin editor for it to appear there.

    Try this:

    • Open Minecraft: Bedrock Edition > go to the Dressing Room and confirm the cape is there
    • Exit Bedrock, then open Minecraft: Java Edition
    • Go to Skins > highlight your current skin
    • Select … > Edit > pick the cape > Save & Use
    • Close and restart Java Edition

    It should render in-game after the restart. If it doesn't show up right after redemption, there's sometimes a short sync delay (community reports up to ~24h) before the cape becomes selectable in Java's editor.

    If it's still missing after that, cape/skin sync issues are handled by Mojang's team, so Minecraft Support would be the right next stop.

    Thanks for reaching out. For me to understand the situation completely and help you best, could you share a bit more details?

    • Which edition is it missing in — Java, Bedrock, or both?
    • If Bedrock: have you checked the Dressing Room (Profile > Dressing Room > Capes)? Promo capes usually land there first.
    • If Java: have you opened the skin editor in the launcher and looked under the cape picker for the skin you're using? On Java these capes usually need to be manually selected before they show up in-game — they don't auto-equip.
    • Roughly when did you redeem? There can be a sync delay of up to ~24h before the cape becomes selectable, so at 21h you might still be right inside that window.

    Once I know which edition and whether it's showing in the picker, I can point you to the right next step.
