Managing tabs, address bar, and search settings in Edge on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Hi,
As shown in the attached screenshot, the latest Edge update (Version 149.0.4022.52) has forced a white border/rounded corners around the browser window.
This UI element is very distracting. I have checked both Settings > Appearance and edge://flags, but the option to disable "rounded corners" has been completely removed from my version.
Questions:
Is there a Registry key to disable this border?
Why was the toggle removed from the settings?
Please provide a way to get back the square, edge-to-edge view. I want the web content to touch the browser edges like before.
Thank you.

Hi,
The flag to disable rounded corners has been removed starting with version 149. This means that Microsoft is permanently applying the said feature throughout the browser to align with Edge and Windows 11 design.
A temporary workaround for this is to disable it using a launch parameter. Right-click your Edge shortcut, select Properties, and add the parameter to the end of the Target field.
Keep in mind that this is only a temporary fix and may stop working in a future version of Edge. Because of that, I recommend also looking for an alternative workaround in case this method is eventually removed.

This is actually a reason for me to swap browsers, I hope MS adds an option to let us disable the rounded outer frame.
I absolutely hate those rounded inside corners, too. It’s a real shame when even the last option for getting rid of those rounded corners is removed.
Always made wrong decision, always ignore users' voices, always indulge in self-complacency.
MicroSoft..... Why is this being forced on users with no way to opt out?
Plenty of people don't find this design attractive.
You already had a working solution — the flag that let us choose.
Removing that choice and imposing one look on everyone is exactly why you're getting so much backlash.
Bring back the option to disable rounded corners.
