Applied Skills Assessment Failed Due to Lab Error

Hello Microsoft Credentials Support,

I launched the Microsoft Applied Skills assessment "Microsoft Applied Skills: Streamline business workflows with AI chat" on June 8, 2026.

During the assessment, I experienced technical issues with the Lab on Demand environment. At one point the lab displayed a "404 Page Not Found" error and I was unable to continue the assessment properly. Due to this issue, my attempt was recorded as a failure with a score of 0%.

I believe this result was caused by the lab/platform issue rather than my performance on the assessment.

Could you please review my attempt and advise whether the 72-hour cooldown period can be removed or whether my assessment attempt can be reset?

Thank you for your assistance.

The 72 hours wait period cannot be waived but even if it could, by the time support did respond ,the 72 hours would be up.

The 72-hour cooldown and any reset or review of an Applied Skills assessment attempt can only be handled by support; it cannot be changed directly in the lab or by documentation-based steps.

    To proceed:

    1. Collect details about the failed attempt
      • Assessment name: "Microsoft Applied Skills: Streamline business workflows with AI chat".
      • Date and time of attempt (June 8, 2026, plus approximate time and time zone).
      • Description of the issue: that the Lab on Demand environment showed a "404 Page Not Found" error and prevented completion, and that the attempt shows as 0%.
      • Any screenshots or error messages captured.
    2. Contact Credentials Support for Applied Skills
      • Go to Credentials Support using the link in the "How to contact support" section.
      • In the support form, select the area related to Microsoft Applied Skills Credentials and Assessment Labs.
      • Describe the issue clearly, including that the lab environment returned a 404 error and that the attempt was recorded as a failure.
      • Request a review of the attempt and ask whether the 72-hour cooldown can be waived or the attempt reset due to the platform error.
    3. If needed, use the challenge process
      • If support directs to the challenge process, or if the issue is treated as a problematic lab task, review the criteria in the exam item challenge process.
      • Ensure the challenge is submitted within 15 calendar days of the assessment date.
      • In the challenge form, reference the specific assessment lab and describe the 404 error and its impact on the ability to complete tasks.
    4. Avoid VPN and similar issues on the next attempt
      • When retaking Applied Skills labs, do not use a VPN, as this can interfere with the lab environment and connectivity.
      • Before launching the lab, close VPN clients and any network tools that might block or rewrite URLs.

Only Credentials Support or the team handling item challenges can determine whether the cooldown can be removed or the attempt reset. Use the official support and challenge channels referenced below for that request.
