Hi, I bought an Asus TUF Gaming A16 a few months back, and I've noticed recently that I have been having some network issues on some games. When ever I load an online game like for example: Apex Legends, whenever I launch into a match, or sit at the menu for a bit, it will kick me to the main menu, and it just starts all over. If i play something like minecraft, when i join anything it will kick me after like 2 minutes back to the server selection screen. I've only had this problem when playing something online, and not when im watching streaming services or browsing the web. ONLY when im trying to play something online. I have a windows 11 if that would help at all.

    Hi ,

Search for msinfo32.exe in the search bar, take a screenshot, and post it here so we can see the correct laptop model or desktop configuration.

    Thanks

The symptoms indicate unstable or poor-quality Wi‑Fi specifically under sustained, real‑time load (online games), even though light usage like browsing/streaming appears fine. Use these steps to improve stability and isolate the cause:

    1. Check Wi‑Fi signal and interference
      1. Move the Asus TUF Gaming A16 closer to the wireless router/access point.
      2. If possible, try a different access point (for example, another room/router or a mobile hotspot) to see if disconnects still occur.
      3. If the router supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, try switching to the other band and test again.
      4. If other devices on the same Wi‑Fi are doing heavy downloads/uploads or streaming, pause those while gaming and see if the problem stops.
    2. Improve overall network quality
      1. If available, test with a wired Ethernet connection from the laptop to the router. If the problem disappears on Ethernet, the issue is with Wi‑Fi quality rather than the games or Windows.
      2. Ensure the router/modem firmware is up to date (check the router’s admin page or documentation).
      3. Check the cable between router and modem for damage or loose connections.
    3. Basic Windows Wi‑Fi checks
      1. Confirm Wi‑Fi is connected and stable:
        • Select the Network icon on the taskbar and verify the network shows as Connected.
      2. If the connection drops, reconnect and see whether the Wi‑Fi icon shows No Internet or disconnects entirely when the game kicks back to menu.
    4. Reset the connection to the Wi‑Fi network
      1. Open Settings > Network & internet > Wi‑Fi > Manage known networks.
      2. Select the home Wi‑Fi network and choose Forget.
      3. Reconnect by selecting the same network from the Wi‑Fi list and entering the password.
    5. Router channel and band
      1. If the router broadcasts both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz as separate SSIDs, try the other one and test games again.
      2. If disconnects persist, log into the router and change the wireless channel to a less congested one (refer to the router manual), then retest.
    6. Check for slow or unstable connection symptoms
      1. While gaming, if there are lag spikes or rubber‑banding before being kicked, treat it as poor network quality:
        • Move closer to the router.
        • Stop unnecessary video or large downloads on other devices.
        • If possible, switch to wired during gaming sessions.

If the connection is stable for streaming and browsing but games still disconnect after these steps, test on another network (friend’s house, mobile hotspot). If games work fine there, focus on the home router/ISP; if they fail on all networks, investigate game‑specific settings or reinstalling the games.
