Hi All

How do I stop this update KB5094126. my system is as follows.

System Edition :Windows 11 Pro

Version : 25H2

Installed on : ‎12/‎12/‎2025

OS build :26200.8457

Experience : Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.304.0

It is killing my local area network (lan) . I am unable to access anything on my lan, the minute this update is applied. I can still access the internet.

  • I have checked that I have the latest drivers for network card.
  • I have paused all updates in the system settings but it still updates.
  • I have tried to use wushowhide.diagcab but that is just ignored and the update is installed.

I have to keep uninstalling KB5094126. I uninstall and reboot to apply and then everything works, until I shutdown and then KB5094126 is reinstalled. I have tried leaving my laptop turned on and logged in but it reboots and installs overnight.

Is there some way to block this in the registry?

Thank you.

    Hi Peter,

I completely understand how frustrating this is, having your LAN break every time KB5094126 installs, and Windows forcing it back again. You’ve already done the hard part identifying that the update is the trigger.

Unfortunately, as of current, there is no supported way (registry or otherwise) to permanently block a specific cumulative update like KB5094126. The only possible way is to pause altogether (not only this one) and wait for a newer update. Since the built-in option didn't work, let's try

1 - Temporarily pause updates service

    • Press Win + R > type services.msc > find Windows Update
    • Double-click the entry > choose Stop > Startup type: Manual
    • Downside: You won’t receive any updates while it’s disabled.

    2 - Metered connection

    • Open Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options
    • Make sure Download updates over metered connections is turned OFF
    • Still in Settings, open Network & Internet > Ethernet / Wi-Fi (depending on your setup)
      • For Wi-Fi > go to Manage known networks > choose yours
      • Toggle ON Metered connection.

Tools like wushowhide used to work but are not reliable anymore for cumulative updates. Windows keeps reinstalling this update because it’s considered a required security component. Since you can’t truly single out one update, the goal is to stop the reinstall loop temporarily or control when it happens.

I have the same problem too. KB5094126 is causing one of the software used in our office to fail. We uninstalled it, only to have it reinstalled itself again quite soon. On every computer affected by this.

So an update caused the computers to be virtually unusable, and it seems like there is nothing anybody can do about it right now except for wait for a permanent fix to be released. Hopefully that comes soon!
