This is most likely a corrupted Task Manager settings file.

Close Task Manager, press Win + R, enter:

    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\TaskManager

Rename settings.json to settings.old, then reopen Task Manager. Windows will create a fresh settings file automatically.

If it still crashes, open Command Prompt as administrator and run:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    sfc /scannow

Restart the computer afterward. Microsoft’s instructions are here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/experience/backup-recovery/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files

If neither works, use Settings > System > Recovery > Fix problems using Windows Update > Reinstall now. This repairs Windows while keeping your files, apps and settings: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/install-upgrade/fix-issues-by-reinstalling-the-current-version-of-windows
