Hyper-V Creating Multiple Adapters when I create Internal Virtual Switch

When I create a new Internal Virtual Switch, it creates a virtual adaptor (as it should), but a second after doing so, another 2nd adaptor is created.
E.g. Create internal switch: called LAN to Sophos

Hyper-V creates a NIC called: vEthernet (LAN to Sophos)
And shortly thereafter a second one: vEthernet (vEthernet (LAN )

I have uninstalled hyper-v, virtual machine platform, windows hypervisor platform. And reinstalled. Same issue.
Delete the second adaptor and reboot and it gets recreated.

Why are 2 adaptors being installed?

Windows 10 64-bit. 21h2

    Late to the party but this search came up when I was looking, so hope this answer helps someone.

    Windows Sandbox creates a virtual adapter for every network adapter in the system. That apparently includes Hyper-V virtual adapters.

    If you do not use it, uninstall Windows Sandbox, and the virtual-virtual adapters will go away.

    Hey DSPatrick,
    that option only exists on an external network. I have no issues there. This problem only occurs on Internal network (where there is obviously no checkbox).

    Updated to Windows 11 hoping that might fix it. The second adaptor no longer appeared in the gui network connections, but still appeared in dos when you did ipconfig.

    Ended up wiping and starting fresh and problem has been resolved.
