Cancelling Microsoft 365 Family subscription for a Business one

I've just purchased a Microsoft 365 Business subscription and want to cancel my family Subscription. Question 1: Will I still be able to access all my Microsoft documents (word, excel and PPT) that I created under my Family subscription or will I lose them/will they all be deleted (I have the apps downloaded on my MAC). Question 2: Whenever I open the newly installed Word, Excel and PPT (under my Business subscription), my old account details are still there, so how do I 'uninstall/deactivate' these on my MAC and have the new apps on it?

Thanks

If your files are stored on your Mac, then you will still have access to them.

If your files are stored on OneDrive, then you should download all the files from OneDrive to your hard disk before making the switch.

You can deactivate your old account on your Mac by using the License Removal Tool. Here is Microsoft's page with the details:

Congratulations on your new Microsoft 365 Business subscription! Here are answers to your questions:

Question 1: You will still be able to access all the Microsoft documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) that you created under your Microsoft 365 Family subscription. Your documents are saved in OneDrive, which is separate from your subscription plan. Even if you cancel your Family subscription, your files will remain intact in your OneDrive account.

Question 2: To remove your old account details from the Office apps on your MAC and sign in with your new Microsoft 365 Business account, follow these steps:

    Sign Out of Office Apps:

    • Open any Office app (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Click on the "Word" menu at the top of your screen (next to the Apple logo).
    • Select "Sign Out" or "Switch Account" (the wording might vary slightly based on the app version).

    Remove Saved Accounts:

    • After signing out, you might still see a list of previously used accounts.
    • Click on your account(s) in the list and choose "Remove Account" or "Delete Account."

Install Office Apps under Business Subscription:

    • If you haven't done so already, download and install the Office apps using your new Microsoft 365 Business account.
    • You can download the apps from the Microsoft 365 admin center or the Microsoft 365 Business subscription page.

    Sign In with New Account:

    • Open any Office app (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Click "Sign In" or "Activate" (the wording might vary).
    • Enter your new Microsoft 365 Business account credentials.

    Open Your Documents:

    • After signing in, you can open your existing documents stored in OneDrive or on your computer.

Remember to back up any important documents before making significant changes to your accounts or apps, just to ensure that you don't accidentally lose any data.
