Hey there! We are a start-up (unwrap.ai) and just received $150k in Azure credits. Does anyone know if we can use these for OpenAI API calls?

To answer your query, Startups may use Azure credits for access, but the amount of credits needed will depend on how much you use the service.

Startups in Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub must apply for access for their specific use case. You’re encouraged to apply under the most fitting review criteria for your stage. Once approved for use, customers can login to the Azure portal to create an Azure OpenAI Service resource and get started either in our Studio website or via code. You can read and learn more via our documentation. Azure OpenAI Service runs on Azure infrastructure that accrues costs when you deploy new resources. There could be other infrastructure costs that might accrue.

Short answer: yes, you can use the $150k in Azure credits for OpenAI APIs.

Our startup currently uses the Azure credits (via the Microsoft for Startups Program) for a variety of service resources. Here's a screenshot of our usage, if that's helpful to see how credits can be used.

When going through the Microsoft for Startups program, you unlock certain levels based on milestones and achievements. Level 4 is the highest level that I'm aware of, which comes with $150k in Azure credits. However, I believe we started off at Level 1 and worked our way up.
