I've attached two images here. There is no space between the figure number and the caption in the first one. However, copying and pasting the same thing and trying to create it manually adds an extra gap here. Please see the second image.
Is there any way I can remove this gap? Is there a solution?

The problem is the tab setting in your Caption dialog comes before the period following the second digit in 10.
First, move the tab setting in the Ruler so that it accepts the 10.
.
This fixes it for that caption but not future ones. Next find the Fig Caption Paragraph style and update it to match that formatting. This will move the text out a bit on all of your captions.
I do not understand why you are not using the Built-In Caption style which is used automatically when Word inserts a caption. You are making extra work for yourself. That style can be modified to suit your needs.
If you are going to continue using the custom Fig Caption and Figure Caption styles, at least one of those should be based on the other rather than on the Normal style.
