Keyboard isn't detected through USB hub (Only at the first insert)

I have a Razer Hunstman v2 and a Razer Viper 8khz which are connected to a USB hub that is connected to my laptop, Lenovo Legion i5 Pro(Gen 8) which has Windows 11.

Scenario:

  • All peripherals are connected to the USB hub.
  • Once I connect the hub to my laptop via USB C, the mouse will work but the keyboard does NOT work.

Workaround:

  • While the hub is connected to my laptop, if I disconnect and reconnect the keyboard on the hub, it works! Because of this, every time I use the hub, I have to disconnect/reconnect the keyboard on the hub after I connect the hub on my laptop. This kinda defeats the purpose of getting a hub.

I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue or windows settings issue.

Anyone here encountered a similar problem and has a permanent solution?

    Hello

This issue could be due to a variety of factors, including hardware compatibility, power delivery, or software settings. Here are some potential solutions:

Direct Connection: Ensure the keyboard is connected directly to your computer’s USB port, not to a USB hub. Some devices may not be recognized properly when connected through a hub.

Power Delivery: USB hubs, especially those without their own power supply, might not provide enough power for high-powered devices like your Razer keyboard. If possible, try using a powered USB hub.

Driver Update: Make sure that the drivers for your USB hub and your Razer devices are up to date. You can usually find the latest drivers on the manufacturer’s website.

Razer Synapse: Razer devices are often managed by the Razer Synapse software. Make sure you have the latest version installed, and check if your devices are being correctly recognized there.

Windows Settings: Check your power management settings in Windows. Sometimes, Windows might turn off devices to save power. Go to Device Manager, find your USB hub under ‘Universal Serial Bus controllers’, right-click it and select ‘Properties’, go to the ‘Power Management’ tab, and uncheck ‘Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power’.

Try Different Ports: If you have multiple ports on your laptop, try using a different port for the USB hub.
