I have both Win 10 & 11 to contend with. My development machine is Win 10. In the articles for Win ADK, I read that the Win 11 version includes the Win 10 capabilities. To save a little time I'm asking if I install the Win 11 tools may I configure Win 10 OS as long as I use the appropriate Win PE?

    Hello

Yes, you can use the Windows 11 Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) to configure and deploy Windows 10, as long as you use the appropriate version of Windows Preinstallation Environment (WinPE). The Windows 11 ADK includes deployment tools such as WinPE, Sysprep, and other tools that you can use to customize and deploy Windows 10 and Windows 11 images.

However, it’s generally recommended to use the ADK version that matches the Windows version you’re working with. If your environment has a mix of Windows versions, use the ADK version that matches the latest operating system in your environment.

While newer versions of the Deployment Tools can be used on versions of Windows that are older than the ADK version you’re using, for some tools like User State Migration Tool (USMT), Windows System Image Manager (WSIM), and the Assessment kit, it’s recommended to use the versions from the ADK that match the OS you’re using the tools on.
