issue -

if a document uses microsoft CALIBRI font

and

you then print that DOCX file to a PDF file

and

you subsequently SEARCH TEXT, or SELECT TEXT

from the PDF file

the CALIBRI text is not converted/searched/copied

correctly.

see attached files

test-calibri-vs-ariel-b.docx

this is the source to test, testing CALIBRI against ARIAL

test-calibri-vs-ariel-b-from-docx.pdf

this is the printed output from the above file.

i used PDF FACTORY as a printer, but using

microsoft Print to PDF also does similar findings.

The PDF created file looks ok. BUT, see next step

file

test-calibri-vs-ariel-b-from-pdf-that-came-from-docx.txt

here is output that was COPIED from the PDF file.

see teh CALIBRI section, the text is garbled, not copied

correctly

the ARIAL section is copied correctly.

here are the files

I can't repro that. I used both File>Save As and File>Print>Microsoft Print to PDF. Then I searched text in Adobe Acrobat and had no problems.

Here's the PDF Factory support page where you may be able to get help with this issue:
