Devices are cloud only joined, and enrolled to Intune via self deploying mode, but few devices shows Entra ID registered instead of Entra ID joined. What can be the issue as other devices looks good. These Entra ID registered shows Azure AD joined with command dsregcmd /status. It just displays in Intune and Azure portal as Entra ID registered, how to rectify this.

    • Ensure that the hardware hash of those devices is uploaded to Intune.
    • Verify whether the Autopilot profile is targeting the hardware hash or serial number. In the Intune admin center, navigate to Devices > Enroll Devices > Windows Enrollment > Devices. Click on the specific device, and on the right-hand side, under Assigned Profile, check if the Autopilot profile is correctly assigned to the device.
    • Ensure that in the Self Deployment Profile "Join to Microsoft Entra ID as" is set to "Microsoft Entra Joined".

    You can follow the steps below from a device displaying Azure AD join when executing the dsregcmd /status command to check if the issue is resolved.

    • You can verify and troubleshoot by navigating to Settings > Accounts > Access work or School, then disconnect. Reconnect and choose Entra ID join from the pop-up. For more detailed instructions, refer to the link: https://cloudinfra.net/how-to-join-a-windows-device-to-entra-id/
    • Restart your device to initiate Intune sync, or force it using any convenient method. After a couple of hours, check if the correct status is displayed. Refer to this link for information on how to force Intune sync manually from a Windows device: Link.

    @DNY,Thanks for posting in Q&A.

    From your description, I know that you enroll your device into Intune via self-deploying mode, but a few devices mistakenly shown Entra ID registered.

    You can refer the method @JM mentioned try to fix the issue.

    Moreover, you can try to unenroll the issued devices and re-enroll them via self-deploying mode to check whether they are Entra ID joined.

    Hope this can be helpful.
