Hi team,

We have identified an issue where emails are no longer being directed to the "Other" folder in Outlook. Additionally, when users attempt to manually move emails from the "Focused" folder to "Other," they are receiving a notification indicating that this functionality has been blocked by the administrator.

Interestingly, when we switch to the new Outlook interface, this functionality works seamlessly, and users are able to successfully move emails to the "Other" tab.

I appreciate your help

Go to File > Manage Rules & Alerts and review existing rules. Disable or modify rules that might be interfering.

    Hi @J-3804

    Welcome to our forum!

You can follow the steps in S.Sengupta above to check if there are any specific rules that affect moving to other folders.

If not, please provide more information about this case so that we can better investigate this issue:

What is your account type? In Outlook for Windows, Focused Inbox is available only for Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Outlook.com accounts.

Can't all messages be moved to "Other"? Can Other be moved to Focused Inbox?

Is it possible to direct Outlook to the Other folder normally on the browser?

Can you provide the specific content of the notice or a screenshot? Please note that your personal privacy information is covered.

Additionally, when users attempt to manually move emails from the "Focused" folder to "Other," they are receiving a notification indicating that this functionality has been blocked by the administrator.

As far as I know, admins can create transport rules for users within the organization to direct emails to the 'Focus' view of all users. Therefore, it is also recommended that you contact your organization's administrator to confirm if they have set it up. More information, see: Configure Focused Inbox for everyone in your organization - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn.

Interestingly, when we switch to the new Outlook interface, this functionality works seamlessly, and users are able to successfully move emails to the "Other" tab.

Based on my testing, I create a forwarding rule, but the classic and new versions don't sync. However, I choose to always move to Other, then the two versions are synced.
