I do not want 2FA authorisation on my work/school account as it is only me that uses it I am not a company or school

I have an outlook email account that my hosting co. for my old website set up for me, I did not have a company as such and the site was just to showcase my artwork.

Because I closed my website I did need to keep my email account and all the email correspondence safe and accessible, however I needed to change to another email service that provided more space and they were selling the outlook package. I did not realise it would be deemed a work/school account and not a private one until everything was transferred.

I do not want to be forced to use an app for authentication every time I open my outlook emails, and I do not understand how to get into azure or any other MS page described in these Q&A pages as I only see when I log in my "user" page.

Please give me the blow by blow stages from log in to finish with links, of how to cancel this 2FA authentication as I am a private individual not a company, and do not know how to access my "organisation's" administration pages. This is making me suicidal as all I am doing is going round and round in circles - I do not think I am alone either, and not just individuals but if you look on the threads here, big companies also have problems with this new security system! Thank you! Happy Christmas!!

Microsoft has been setting MFA (multi-factor authentication) requirement as a security default. If you didn't want this then sign in here. (with your 365 account)

https://portal.azure.com/#home

then navigate to Microsoft Entra ID\Properties\Manage security defaults then choose Disabled
