Mail flow rules in a hybrid environment

Hello, our company has both office 365 and exchange on premise (2010), where almost all adresses are stored in office 365
In the future, we want to remove exchange on premise from the configuration
But for now, I've created a mail flow rule in the exchange online admin console, it works properly, but will it still work after removing the local server?

Hi @Mateusz Nowakowski

If currently you have an Exchange hybrid deployment and the mail flow rule is created in Exchange Online, it will continue to work without the Exchange on-premises server.

However, please note that if your company would like to keep Active Directory synchronization in place, it is recommended not to uninstall the local server (you can shutdown the server instead).
