Hi,

I'm getting lot of device which are showing as "Client check passed/Active" or "Client check passed/InActive"

I have check few machine and I dont see any issue.

  • Firewall is turned off
  • All device are allowed on firewall
  • SCCM client show healthly
  • No errors in Event
  • No errors in log files

Is they anything else i can do to check why clients are not reporting. Anything I can put in place to do any check.

    According to this: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/clients/manage/monitor-clients#about-client-status

    "

    • Client activity: The site considers the client as active if it has communicated with Configuration Manager in the past seven days. The site considers the client inactive if it hasn't done the following actions in seven days:
      • Requested policy update
      • Sent a heartbeat message
      • Sent hardware inventory
" So... have those inactive clients not done any of those 3 things in the last 7 days? You can look at v_ch_clientsummary to see the dates on those 3 things, or if looking at a client in the console, in the lower right hand details pane for the object, it'll mention those things.

    Hi, @lalajee

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

If you have already checked the firewall, SCCM client health, event logs, and there are no errors, you may want to check if the clients are communicating with Configuration Manager.

You can monitor the status of all clients in the Configuration Manager console by going to the Monitoring workspace, selecting the Client Status node, and reviewing the overall statistics for client activity and client checks across the site.

You can also drill down into detail about the reported statistics by choosing the name of the reported information and reviewing the information about the individual clients.
