Hi,

I have scenarios in which I would like to get the advice/comment from the guru.

The user's device was stolen and the user reported to the IT for remote wipeout. The IT trigger the wipeout from the Intune Management

  1. The wipeout will initiated once the device check-in. Does this mean the account must log-in?
  2. Will the wipeout push through once it connects to the internet? If yes, what if the thief notices the wipeout and disconnects from the internet will the wipeout complete after the connection is interrupted?
  3. During the wipeout process, is there a sequence that we can share with the Team? such as
    1. company apps and associated data installed by Intune
    2. settings
    3. wifi and VPN settings
    4. certificate profile and so on.
some of our users are technical and we want to anticipate such questions before implementing the intune. Thank you in advance Guru's. Paul Buli

    1. Wipe out will start when computer connects internet and Intune agent gets the wipe command. No user log-in is required.
    2. Yes, once the wipe out is about to start, internet connectivity wont matter anymore.
    3. Everything will be gone, thief will be left with blank Windows OS re-installation.

If you want to make thief's life harder, apply bios admin password to all devices and disable USB and optical media start up during boot options. That will turn laptops to a brick.
