Hi All - I am looking to transition to a Product Management role in Azure from a traditional TPM role. I am looking for recommendations on Azure certifications that will fit in this transition. (I am currently working on AZ-900 Azure fundamentals exam) My Idea is to gain the necessary background knowledge which will help me excel in the Product Manager role. Thank you for your time and attention in this regard. -DMR

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Transitioning from a traditional Technical Program Manager (TPM) role to a Product Management role in Azure is a commendable goal. Here are some Azure certifications that may be beneficial for your transition:

AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals: This is a good starting point, and it seems you're already working on it. It provides a foundational understanding of Azure services, which is crucial for any role within the Azure ecosystem.

AZ-500: Microsoft Azure Security Technologies: Security is an integral aspect of product management. Understanding security measures within Azure can contribute to your overall proficiency.

AZ-400: Microsoft Azure DevOps Solutions: Product Managers often collaborate closely with development teams. Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools can enhance your effectiveness in working with cross-functional teams.

AZ-303 and AZ-304: Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies and Design: These certifications provide a deeper understanding of Azure architecture, which is beneficial for making informed product decisions.

AZ-600: Configuring and Operating a Hybrid Cloud with Microsoft Azure Stack Hub: This certification is relevant if your product management role involves hybrid cloud solutions.

Remember that while certifications are valuable, practical experience and soft skills are equally important in a Product Management role. Consider gaining hands-on experience with Azure services, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and honing skills such as communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking.
