Sharepoint Online - Rights to move documents

Hi there,

we have problems with rights regarding moving documents within the library. Currently only users with full access can move the documents. Users with "Contribute / Edit" access (who also have the right to delete documents!) can not move the documents.
Unfortunately, I can't find "move documents" anywhere in the user group, so I can't adjust it.
Any ideas? What did we miss? :)

Thank you very much

    Hi @jaWa ,

Please check whether your library has unique permissions or not.

Click your library > Settings > Library settings > Permissions for this document library (if you can see "Delete unique permissions", it means this library has unique permission)

If your library has unique permissions, you need to grant user or group with "Contribute" or "Edit" permission again. And like you said, users with "Edit" permission they also should have the right to delete files to use "move to" option. Settings > Site permissions > Advanced permissions settings > Permission Levels > Click "edit" > select "delete item"

The accepted answer may be correct, but is likely irrelevant to the underlying problem. Another user posted a similar question, and that post directly addresses the missing "move to" option (relevant), rather than how to change rights (irrelevant), and the answer they were given by the rep was again useless and irrelevant. But the OP answered their own question at the bottom of the thread, and their solution directly solves the "move to" issue that inexplicably exists in Sharepoint. Here's the link:

I would like a user to edit, view, and delete but not move the same document from one folder to other within a SharePoint site OR within a Document Library. How is it possible? Thanks.
